
Bara is very pleased to welcome an essential addition to the global team. Hossein Zarei is a metallurgist and mineral processing engineer with extensive and detailed experience in mining and mineral processing project development work spanning initial sampling and testwork, through process design, plant design, construction, commissioning and operations. He claims particular specialisation in optimising both metallurgical recovery and processing costs in tandem for delivery of optimal process economics.
After taking an initial post-graduate role as Research Engineer at the Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran, Hossein moved on to more senior roles firstly as Hydrometallurgy Manager for the company Calcimin, then Engineering Manager for the engineering company GSZ, where he led process solution delivery for capital projects including in copper, lead, zinc, coal and industrial minerals. Before moving to the UK, Hossein delivered as Managing Director for the industrial minerals group KePa. Now Principal Metallurgical Consultant for Bara Consulting, Hossein is based in Cambridge together with his wife, a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Sustainability at the University of Cambridge – from where he will deliver metallurgical consulting and process engineering solutions for Bara projects globally.
